Why are subjects placed here? We place each course by its main knowledge and activity, following Jerome Bruner’s focus on the structure of a subject. Physical Education studies movement and health, so it sits in Science; Psychosocial Development studies people and relationships, so it sits in Reading, Writing and Research. John Dewey’s experiential learning and Lev Vygotsky’s social learning inform projects across strands. We check each placement against course content and evidence, including the National Academies’ integration framework. The exact categories are this platform’s educational interpretation.

INTEGRATION & COLLABORATION

Bring the strands together.

The Integration Studio is a shared course space for projects that combine subjects. Arrange each project by unit, topic and sub-topic, attach resources, and set up discussion topics and assignments when ready.
